Organize Your Home Office Workspace: Practical Get Organized Advice
Posted on: November 21st, 2008Your home office workspace, as with your home, needs to be well organized. Follow tips to get your started:
LAY OUT YOUR WORKSPACE
* Use “L” and “U” shaped desks for the most efficient workspaces;
* Store your gadgets and equipment — telephone, computer, etc. — on one “wing”;
* Leave the other wing free to spread out while you work;
* Have everything you need within arm’s reach;
* Place the telephone on the side of the desk opposite your writing hand. That way you can hold the telephone and take notes at the same time;
* Add a hutch for extra storage for books, supplies, and equipment; and
* Avoid cluttering your workspace by filing away personal items.
PUT ERGONOMICS TO WORK FOR YOU
* Pay special attention to your body — aches and pains aren’t normal;
* Do not generally bend, squat, or stretch whilst at your workstation;
* Place your monitor at eye level — if not, raise your monitor;
* Place your wrists flat when typing or using a mouse. If not, use a keyboard tray or wrist rest when typing; and
* When sitting, your thighs should be parallel to the floor. Your calves need to be perpendicular to the floor with feet on the ground. If they are not, adjust your chair or bring in a footrest.
ORGANIZE YOUR SUPPLY STORAGE
* Do not hoard supplies at your desk;
* Keep only what you need right now at your workstation;
* Use a separate supply area for storing bulk amounts;
* Store away extras in labeled containers and group like items together for instance writing utensils, clips, notepads, etc.;
* Place flat items (paper, sheet protectors, and folders) in stacking trays;
* Place drawer dividers in drawers to keep small items in order;
* Place envelopes and note cards in a small vertical rack; and
* Use bracket shelves above your desk for additional storage.
Follow these tips and advice and you’ll soon have a practical and efficient home office in which to work effectively and productively.

Your Chance to Find Out Helpful Information - Positive Attitude And Success
Posted on: November 20th, 2008Maintaining a positive attitude is probably what most of us are searching for in life. After all, the personal development gurus always mentioned that your attitude in life determines your altitude in life.
As easy as it may sound, however maintaining a positive attitude does required some hard work from our part.
Do you know what exactly constitutes a positive attitude? I am quite surprised that many people do not exactly know what the word “attitude” actually means. Honestly speaking, how can one seek to improve his attitude in life if he does not even know what “attitude” all about?
And thus, that brings us to:
Positive Attitude Help #1:
You cannot manage what you cannot understand. Thus, the first step to you improving on your attitude is to know what constitutes an attitude. Attitude is defined as a complex mental state involving beliefs, feelings, values and dispositions to act in certain ways. To change your attitude, you have to put work hard on your belief and value systems and your emotional IQ.
Positive Attitude Help #2:
Recognize who you want to associate more often and who you want to limit your association. As much as we want to, not all relationships are created equally. Birds of the same feathers flock together. By actively seeking out and associating yourself with people who holds more empowering beliefs and values, you will be in a better position to achieve a positive attitude and success in life by mingling around with them.
Positive Attitude Help #3:
Know how to deal with your time. Everyone is given 24 golden nuggets per day, no one is exempted. Therefore it is up to us to decide how we want to utilize them to further improve our life and the lives of others.
Positive Attitude Help #4:
If you noticed, having a great attitude in life involves great amount of mind power. Possessing a positive attitude all starts in the mind. A healthy, positively charged mind will atomically translate to a positive outlook of life.
And to own a healthy mind, one has to first own a healthy physical body which evolves from having a healthy lifestyle. Learn how to effectively manage the stress in your life, refrain from any potentially harmful drugs and getting a moderate amount of exercise very week are some of the examples how one can build a healthy mind and physical body to attain a positive attitude and outlook of life.
Like every other skills, nurturing a positive attitude in life requires some work from your part.
The 4 positive attitude help formulas can only lay the foundation for you. However, you still have to “do your own pushups” should you want to see astonishing miracles in your life, literally.

How to Take Care of Houses in Astrology
Posted on: November 11th, 2008Hoses have no special names to memorize. They are simply numbered one through twelve, and each house has similarities to its corresponding sign. For instance, sign number five, Leo, is the SIGN of romance and creativity in general. In your horoscope, HOUSE number five shows in particular what your romantic life is like. Astrologers probably get asked more about this house than any other.
First House: This begins with the Ascending Sign (also called the Rising Sign) at the left side of the horoscope wheel. This house shows your outward and superficial traits. It is what people see when they first meet you, as opposed to the Sun-Sign which shows your inner traits. This house corresponds to the 1st sign, Aries, which is the sign of new beginnings.
Second House: Money and possessions. But it goes beyond these. The second house also shows the VALUE you place on things, including yourself, so it includes your sense of self-worth. This house corresponds to the 2nd sign, Taurus, which is the sign of material goods.
Third House: Communications, and one’s style of communicating, the “lower mind” (the ability to perceive facts and communicate them), short journeys, brothers and sisters, neighbors, and anything within arms reach. This house corresponds to the 3rd sign, Gemini, the sign of communications.
Fourth House: Your home, the domestic environment in general, your early years, and the parent of lesser influence, usually the father. I’m frequently asked whether the early environment has more influence than the horoscope. My answer has always been that the formative years are shown by the 4th house. This house also shows what we become during the last third of our life. The older we get, the more we become like the sign and the planets in our 4th house. This house corresponds to the 4th sign, Cancer, sign of the home. It is also the only house where the correspondence breaks down a bit. Cancer is the sign of motherhood, but the 4th house usually indicates the father.
Fifth House: Romance and children (there is a connection), creativity, gambling and speculation, hobbies, sports, fun and games. This house corresponds to the 5th sign, Leo, sign of romance, creativity, and children.
Sixth House: Work and service, both given and received. This is not career (ruled by the 10th house) but rather your style and quality of work. It also shows health matters. This house corresponds to the 6th sign, Virgo, sign of work, service, and health.
Seventh House: Marriage and partnership. Any time you approach anyone else as an equal, you are using your 7th house, so it rules more than marriage and business partners. It rules open enemies as well. It may seem contradictory for marriage and open enemies to be shown by the same area of the horoscope, but if that’s what you think, you probably have never been married.
Eighth House: Sex, death, rebirth (in the sense of regeneration). Since this is opposite the 2nd house (which rules YOUR money, possessions, and values) the 8th house rules other people’s money, possessions, and values, your ability to utilize the possessions of others for your own ends. By extension, it rules insurance and tax matters, as well as the influence that the values of others have on you (social values). It can also indicate what influence, if any, you can have on the values of those around you, including the society you live in. As far as sex goes, the 5th house may rule romance, but the 8th house gets down to the sex act itself, your style of sex, your tastes, what turns you on. This includes any fetish you may have. Now you see why astrology readings are confidential.
This house corresponds to the 8th sign, Scorpio, sign of sex, death, regeneration, and other people’s money.
Ninth House: Religion, philosophy, higher education, “higher mind” (the ability to grasp general principles as opposed to the “lower mind” ability to perceive and communicate individual facts). In general, it shows the principles (or lack of principles) that we were raised with. Since the 9th house is opposite the 3rd, it shows long journeys (requiring an overnight stay) as opposed to short ones. This house corresponds to the 9th sign, Sagittarius, sign of higher mind, religion, philosophy, and long journeys.
Tenth House: Career (as opposed to day-to-day work), public image (as opposed to your private image), the goals of your life. The 10th house begins with the Mid-Heaven, the highest point in the horoscope. Additionally, the 10th house rules the parent of “greater influence”, usually the mother. This house corresponds to the 10th sign, Capricorn, sign of ambition and organizing skills.
Eleventh House: Traditionally assigned to Friends, Hopes, and Wishes. It goes beyond that, however. The 11th house indicates how we deal with groups of people. This house corresponds with the 11th sign, Aquarius, sign of friendship.
Twelfth House: Self-undoing, psychological problems, restrictions and places of restriction, hidden enemies (as opposed to the open enemies shown by the 7th house). I know, it doesn’t sound like a nice house, but strong placements here usually increase one’s intuition. This house corresponds with the 12th sign, Pisces, sign of intuition, dreams, and compassion.

Useful Recommendations About Astological Natal Charts and Money Matters
Posted on: November 10th, 2008Key Factors For Determining Money Potential.
1. The condition of the 2nd house for one’s personal assets: planets found within the house and their aspects; the ruler of the second house and its position by sign, house and aspect; and the sign on the cusp of the second house.
2. The condition of the 8th house for one’s personal assets accumulated through partnership and/or marriage: planets found within the house and their aspects; the ruler of the eighth house and its position by sign, house and aspect; and the sign on the cusp of the eighth house.
3. The condition of the 11th house for one’s personal assets accumulated through business and career: planets found within the house and their aspects; the ruler of the eleventh house and its position by sign, house and aspect; and the sign on the cusp of the eleventh house.
4. The condition of Venus, the natural ruler of the second house, and Jupiter, the planet of expansion. Also, look for where the signs Taurus and Sagittarius are found in the chart.
5. The chart ruler (ruler of the Ascendant) and its relationship to the rulers of the second and eighth houses. Also take note of any planets found in the second and eighth houses.
6. The condition of Saturn and Mars in the chart. On their own, these factors do not show money potential, but they are contributing factors to accumulating wealth.
The second house rules possessions and attitudes towards money. The eighth house rules money accumulated through partnership or marriage. The eleventh house rules money accumulated through business and career.
You might notice a pattern here. In fact, one can use derivative houses in order to determine the potential for personal assets from different areas of life. For example, the fifth house rules creativity, and the second house from the fifth house is the sixth house. Conceivably, we could look to the 6th house to determine the potential for money earned from creative endeavors or creative hobbies. The fifth house also rules our offspring, so we could also look to the 6th house to find the potential for money earned through children.
Of course, these houses have more meanings, esoteric ones as well. We are simplifying here in order to study one particular aspect of life. See Important Notes below.
Many astrologers look to the second house ruler in order to get a good feel for the native’s wealth potential. For example, if the sign on the cusp of the second house is Aries, the ruler of Aries is Mars. Therefore, Mars rules the second house in this example. Where is Mars found in the chart, and what aspects does it make? Mars might be found in Taurus in the second house, conjunct the Moon, trine Uranus and Pluto, square Jupiter, and opposite Neptune. This is a rather complex picture, but we can get some sense of the money potential of this individual. This particular native has quite a few planets in the second house.
We can expect this person to do rather well for himself as a result, but the square of the second house ruler to Jupiter, and more notably the opposition to Neptune, suggests that he may easily spend a lot of the money he does make. As focused as he is on making money, he may have a tendency to over-indulge (square to Jupiter) and perhaps money may slip through his fingers a little too easily for him to accumulate much wealth (opposition to Neptune). In reality, the native in question is quite content with his position. He is a hard worker, and has a philosophy about living in the here and now. In his case, he is not concerned about accumulating wealth. He does not want—he makes a fair amount of money.
I have found hard aspects of money significators to Neptune to be rather problematic. Hard aspects to Jupiter can be troublesome as well. One client, for example, had her chart read by an astrologer at the age of 18. She was told that because the ruler of her second house was conjunct Jupiter, she would never want for money. The reality was such that she never truly wanted for money, but she had a hard time holding on to it. In her thirties, for example, she made a fair amount of money, only to have it squandered by her husdand.
The position and condition of both Saturn and Mars gives us a sense of the drive and ambition of the native. These traits can be important factors when money and wealth are earned by the native’s own efforts. I have found that any aspect, hard or soft, between Mars and Saturn, gives some drive to succeed, with the hard aspects certainly more urgent.
It is important to note that if the native has only “easy” aspects involving the significators of money, there may not be enough drive or follow-through to both make and keep wealth. I have a relative who is a self-made woman, someone who worked her way up from a low position to the top. She has a yod configuration involving Jupiter, Venus, and Saturn. The sextile portion of the yod is Venus sextile Saturn, with Jupiter quincunx both Venus and Saturn. Mars trines Jupiter and squares Saturn. Essentially, Saturn forms difficult aspects to both Mars and Jupiter, and Mars and Jupiter are in trine. This type of mixed configuration (in which there are what are traditionally considered both “lucky” and “unlucky” aspects) is something to look for when you are trying to determine the potential for wealth or success that is of the self-made kind. Easy aspects alone do not seem to provide the “oomph” necessary to work hard and strive towards a lofty goal.
One of the things that she believes to have been instrumental to her success is the fact that she does not shrink from challenges and does not fall apart when things around her seem to be falling apart. I suspect that her Sun and Mercury both trine Neptune play a role as well, because in addition to her ability to face up to challenges, her powerful intuition is part of the “formula” for her success. Especially as a woman from her generation and in her particular profession, she has had to rely on a certain level of faith (Neptune) and powerful faculties of intuition in order to succeed as she has.

Therapy Through Music - Best Value For The Money
Posted on: November 8th, 2008In ancient Greece, Apollo represented both music and medicine. In the Old Testament, poetry attributed to King David continues to inspire with its intrinsic understand of the range of human emotions. Music Healing Therapy - It is undeniable that there is a connection between art and healing. Lani Star, internationally known for her music performance, maintains a personal philosophy on the healing power of music within every individual. She uses Hawaiian musical wisdom, Eastern yogic sound patterns, and angelic chants to enhance the self – the mind, body, and spirit – and inspire success . For Lani Star, who offers voice lessons while participating in a music retreat, music is an expression of the soul, and the way to tap into vocal or musical beauty is to tend to the soul. In turn, tending to the voice can improve the soul . Lani Star’s musical specialty is New Age and mystic jazz, and she makes it a point to spread the healing power of music .
Lani Star states, “A singer must reach within, connecting heart and voice, to produce a powerful resonance that can move their audience to tears. This same power can be used in all areas of life – and not just by professional musicians.” With the power that comes from music, the rest of one’s life manifests the self-actualization and power of healing in relationships, friendships, in their work and hobbies. You don’t have to be a musician at a professional level . You don’t even have to be good . Music doesn’t have to mean anything beyond what you want it to mean for yourself. Even so, any audience appreciates emotional sincerity and intensity, maybe more than the musicality of the performance. It is said that an audience will forgive a missed note – they will not forgive an inauthentic performance.
The author of The Mozart Effect, Don Campbell, said that music has its own power and vibrating energy, even when it seems quiet and peaceful. When singing, that energy and power comes from deep within your body, and what you bring to it is what comes out, intensified .
Lani Star’s advice for those who wish to achieve self-healing with music is to attend to your health as you’re learning your craft . Your body needs to be nourished in order to protect your voice , and your mind needs to be nourished for the emotional purity of performance . A good diet and lots of water is clinically proven to enhance your mood, and it’s also good for your voice . Lani Star also believes that everything that comes out of your mouth effects the environment within and around you, so it is good for you to listen and sing positive and reinforcing music . Not only does it help you, but it improves the mood of your audience . Songwriting can also allow one of extract the negative energy in your body, transforming it from poison in the body to art in the music. Singing can also act as a form of meditation, which helps your internal balance just as meditation does.

Posted on: November 6th, 2008Opening the 8th and 9th Chakras
The true 8th and 9th chakras are the shoulder chakras. Opening these will align the soul and drastically open energy pathways to the palm chakras and greatly empowering them.
To open your shoulder chakras, all you need to do is to visualize them as in the illustration at the bottom. Focus and meditate on them for a few minutes. A feeling of aching, or pressure is a positive sign you were successful in opening them. This feeling can extend to your arms and can feel sort of like they are falling asleep.
Now, align your chakras. The correct alignment of the chakras is in the shape of an equal armed cross. Correctly aligning the chakras will drastically increase your power.
1. Begin with the base chakra and turn the cone so the point is upwards. I know those who have followed the program so far have done these steps but i have added these for the people who wish to browse.
2. Do the same with the sacral and solar chakras (2nd and 3rd).
3. Focus your attention on your crown chakra and turn the point down.

How To Identify Time Wasters: Top Time Management Help
Posted on: November 5th, 2008We all know time is precious but, let’s look at the somewhat strange concept of ‘Time Killers’. There are numerous time killers in this world and what you have to do is identify these time killers, look out for them and stay wary of them. Only then can you put your available time to the maximum possible use.
The killers that I am referring to are quite ordinary every day things that we see and use in our lives but often do not realize how much of our time they take up.
Seven terrible Time Killers:
Telephone calls
Chatter boxes
Traffic jams
looiking for parking spaces
Meetings
Bad machinery
Long queues
The list could, of course, go on and on. But before we keep adding to the list, I would like to elaborate on certain of the items listed above.
How to handle Time Killers.
Telephone calls.
The funny thing about telephone calls is that these instruments are indeed great time savers. The problem arises when telephones are not used properly. Most people do not understand and even if they do they forget that telephones are not to be used for lengthy conversations. A fundamental of a telephone conversation is that it should be short.
Now coming to cell phones there is a lot to be said and done. Turn off your cell phone when you are having a conversation or a discussion with more than one person. Often we tend to give more importance to the caller than to the person we were having the discussion with. Again the same rule applies here. Be brief. A cell phone is to be used to get an important message across to someone who you were not able to reach on the land line.
The next point is about those chatter boxes. Steer clear of such people. Believe me, it is much easier to avoid such people than to tell them to shut up and if you get a telephone call from such a person, use a caller ID facility or ask your secretary to divert the call.
Traffic jams and finding parking spaces.
Any one who has lived in the city for at least a day will know what I am talking about. There is no getting past a traffic jam at the rush hour. And will someone tell me why it is called the rush hour when that is the time when the traffic is the slowest and rush hour seems to last two or three hours!
The only thing you can do is anticipate the traffic jam and leave your home a half hour or one hour early. But that does not really keep the time killer at bay. It just helps you to avoid being late. In this respect you have two options. Either you could find something constructive to do while you wait for the traffic to move along or the traffic light to change or a better option would be to take subway and walk the rest of the way. You can get a long a lot faster on your feet and it is a lot better for your health as well.
By doing so, you can also get rid of the headache of finding a parking space.
Not surprisingly lengthy meetings and discussions can prove to be awful time killers particularly if the meeting does not have a clear agenda and if there are people who love to talk among the group. It has been found that most middle and senior level mangers spend nearly 70% of their work time talking. And in most organizations, parleying has been turned into a fine art.
Bad machinery is a time waster. How many of us have wanted to sit and scream and bang the daylights out of a pc that does not give us the required data or information. A computer that takes a long time to start up, a photocopier that gives shamefully faint photocopies, even a leaky faucet or a stubborn drawer or door knob can waste a lot of time and send us up the wall. If you have such equipment or machinery, get it changed at the earliest possible date. It is worth the amount of time and energy that you waste on it every day.
Long queues naturally waste a lot of time. That does not mean that you should jump the queue. If you can get the job done over the telephone or can reserve your ticket in advance, do it, even if it means a few extra dollars, it is worth the time you may have to spend waiting.
Apart from these each person may have particular time wasters, like for instance, a car that refuses to start in the morning, difficult hair that insists on looking like Medusas head on a bad snake day, an elevator that takes for ever to reach your floor. Use your common sense and try to find alternate methods or even better, if you cannot find an alternate method, you could put the time to some use like read your morning paper in the elevator.

Nail Biting Habit Facts
Posted on: November 5th, 2008Did you know adult nail biting is related to skin picking and hair pulling. People are often asked why they can’t stop and are regularly asked if they are Crazy. A adult nail biting often occurs when nail biters are in one of two modes. Some folks do it in an automated way, as if they are in some type of altered state and not actually brooding about what they do. It’s frequently when they are engrossed in some other activity at the same time, like watching Television or working on the PC, for example. At a particularly basic level, this will satisfy an urge of theirs.
A lot of people report a wild compulsion to do this. On the other hand, when they are bored or inactive, they appear to supply a required level of kick to the nervous system. This potentially accounts for why so many folk who have these habits find it so hard to erase these habits. It simply “feels good” at the point, irrespective of what are the effects. Even if you’ve got more than one of these bad habits,don’t despair. They can be overcome if you have enough motivation. More crucial is learning to “de-stigmatize” yourself.
You aren’t funny, helpless, morally weak or fully out of control, though you can feel just like some or all these things at times. Once you get down to realizing that you are merely a person who simply happens to have a little difficulty, you can begin to make some major progress.
Skin picking and nail biting are chronic issues, so there’s not currently a “cure” but you’ll be able to find relief if you are prepared to work at it.
Self-hypnosis for nail biting contains 3 parts. NLP & Hypnotherapy For People Who Bite Their Nails. To start with, nail biting is a stress related habit. So the 1st part of the hypnotic treatment is to teach the biter ways to be more relaxed at all times. That is due to the fact that the real essence of hypnosis is relaxation.
Then you can consciously decide whether you are really going to bite them. This could be a tough method that may effectively relieve the compulsion.
The 3rd part of the hypnotic treatment is to get rid of the compulsion to bite the nails. With the nail biting behavior, being pragmatic is critical. You want to accept the nail biting treatments behavior won’t simply be overcome in two weeks. It can take a little time to conquer, but I think that it is definitely worth it. Experience has shown self hypnosis methods to be really effective.
Lucid Dreaming for Overcoming Nightmares
Posted on: November 4th, 2008Many people discover lucid dreaming through a nightmare in which they realize, “hey, this monster isn’t real; this must be a dream!” This first taste of consciousness in the dream can be very liberating. Many go on to chase down all their greatest fears and look them in the face while dreaming. While this is generally a safe activity, sometimes if you go looking for trouble you are actually re-cementing the fears you have, rather than eradicating them. Instead, many psychologists recommend a more “hands-off” approach to lucid dream control. Fear arises on its own, so try to face whatever presents itself rather than seeking out what you have decided is your greatest issue. This more naturalistic approach to lucid dreams is gentler on the spirit, and will provide plenty of opportunities to develop courage, sensitivity, and compassion.

Posted on: November 3rd, 2008Opening the Solar Plexus Chakra
1. Sit in a comfortable position with your spine straight.
2. Relax and go into a meditative state.
3. Place your hands in the solar mudra illustrated at bottom of page.
4. Inhale fully and drop your chin to your chest. Keep your chin gently, but firmly pressed against your chest throughout the entire exhale, only raising your head during the inhale.
5. Vibrate
R-R-R-R-AH-AH-AH-AH-AH
until you are out of breath, concentrating on your solar plexus chakra. Adjust the vibration of the chant so you can feel it in your solar plexus chakra.
6. Repeat 5 times.
7. Now, align your solar chakra point facing up as illustrated at below, by visualizing it. The color of the solar chakra is bright yellow.
Opening the Sacral Chakra

Opening the Base Chakra
To open the base chakra, place your hands in the position shown in the photo. Your finger pads should be touching and your thumbs should be touching side by side down to the fleshy part known in palmistry as the “Mount of Venus.” This mudra produces a heat sensation in the hands and stimulates the base chakra. Don’t worry if you cannot feel the heat sensation as this takes sensitivity.
Breathe in and fill your lungs, but not to discomfort and with the exhale, make the s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s sound. The Sigel Rune symbolizes the manifestation of the kundalini serpent and also the creation’ the spark of life. Kundalini is like lightening.
While exhaling with the hissing sound, try to imagine/feel your base chakra as very hot and visualize it about the size of a pea, opening and expanding into a vortex. Spin this vortex. Continue visualizing your chakra lighting up into red/gold and expanding with a bright sun coloured fire, about the size of a 2 pound coin or a silver dollar in diameter and imagine the feeling of it growing hotter as it gets brighter.
The hissing breath should be done seven times.
Align your base chakra point facing upwards as you did with your solar and sacral chakras.
