Do You Play Online Sonic The Hedgehog Games?
Sonic The Hedgehog is the hero of the video game series created by Sega. Sonic is now one of the world’s most famous game characters, and tons of devotees love to play Sonic games online for fun and amusement.
Sonic is a blue hedgehog who has the ability to run faster than the speed of sound. This power is a major part of the way all the games are played. Whether you play Sonic online or offline, you’re sure to enjoy the high-speed hedgehog and his super-powered acquaintances like Tails the flying fox, Knuckles the Echidna, Blaze the pyrokenetic feline and Amy the female hedgehog.
Sonic is known as the world’s speediest hedgehog. His greatest strength is his incredible running speed, although numerous of his other powers are variants on the tendency for hedgehogs to roll into tight balls for protection - with the extra feature of spinning his body. Sonic’s primary offensive tactic is the basic “Spin Attack”. Later games in the series expanded on this standard attack, producing the “Spin Dash” which involves Sonic spinning on the spot prior to blasting off at full speed, and the “Homing Attack”, in which he dashes in midair toward a target.
One recognizable and recurring characteristic when you play Sonic the Hedgehog games is the golden Rings (also called Power Rings or Magic Rings) scattered throughout the levels. This game play device allows players possessing at least one ring to endure when taking damage from an enemy or destructive object. Instead of expiring, the player’s rings are scattered. Usually, a hit will cause the player to lose all of his rings, although in certain situations it only costs a fixed number of rings rather than the entire collection. Collecting 100 rings will usually reward Sonic (or any other playable character) with an extra life.
The Chaos Emeralds are seven emeralds with magical powers, and are another perennial characteristic of Sonic games. Multiple sets of them have popped up in several settings like South Island, West Side Island and Angel Island. They are the cornerstone of many of the games’ plots, and the player is frequently required to collect them all in order to defeat Doctor Robotnik and achieve the games’ “good endings”, super forms, or both. In some plots, the emeralds can be found in hidden locations within the main levels. In most later games, the Chaos Emeralds are found by the characters during the games’ story modes. When seven Chaos Emeralds are collected, Sonic can induce a super transformation into “Super Sonic”, an even faster and invulnerable version of himself that can fly.
